Introduction

But not all the heroes of this day rose to be kingdom-felling powers.
While everyone knows of this fateful day and the great deeds that took place upon it, fewer know thesecret behind them. Known as the Etney to a select few—the Endless in thenative language of the dwarves—this day was not a single day at all, but many. For reasons known by even less, Riloth the 19th of the year 720 AF did notoccur just once, but hundreds, possibly thousands, of times.
Many of those who roseto fame on this day had an awareness of this phenomenon, while others simplybenefited by associating with beings who did.
But, there was at leastone humble figure who saved countless lives, only to live on in a life ofpeaceful obscurity, known only to those who dedicated their lives toresearching the events of that day.
This is the story of Cork the Many, Chosen of Gus, the smallest of the day’s great heroes.
